BlakLight return with Cruel — Maxi Single, a release that does far more than simply extend the life of one song. This is a full dark synthpop transmission, a carefully assembled remix package that pulls the title track into several different emotional and electronic directions while keeping the heart of the original intact.
Based in Los Angeles, BlakLight are Adam Collier, Brian Belknap and Omar Quiñones, a trio already well known for their polished but emotionally charged dark electronic sound. Their music sits in that beautiful space between synthpop elegance, darkwave shadow, club energy and human vulnerability. Cruel continues that path, but this maxi single gives the track a larger world to breathe in. It is not just a single. It is a small universe of versions, each one reflecting a different angle of pain, memory, movement and atmosphere.
The release opens with Cruel (Rotersand Remix), and this version immediately gives the track a stronger club pulse. Rotersand bring that sharp, driving electronic pressure, pushing the song into darker dancefloor territory without stripping away the emotional weight.
